Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs your use of the Contactwho platform and services. It supplements our Terms of Service. By using Contactwho you agree to comply with this policy.
Prohibited Activities
You may not use Contactwho to:
- Scrape or bulk-extract data — automated scraping, crawling, or systematic downloading of contact or company data beyond normal use of the Service is prohibited.
- Resell or redistribute data — contact data obtained through Contactwho is for your own business use only. You may not resell, sublicence, or redistribute it to third parties.
- Send spam or unsolicited bulk messages — using contact data to send unsolicited commercial messages in violation of applicable anti-spam laws (including CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and PECR) is prohibited.
- Circumvent usage limits — creating multiple accounts, using automation to bypass credit limits, or exploiting technical vulnerabilities to obtain additional credits or access is prohibited.
- Impersonate others — misrepresenting your identity or affiliation when using the Service or contacting individuals through data obtained from Contactwho.
- Engage in unlawful activity — using the Service for any purpose that violates applicable local, national, or international law.
- Harass or harm — using contact data to stalk, harass, threaten, or otherwise harm any individual.
- Interfere with the Service — introducing malware, attempting to gain unauthorised access, or taking actions that disrupt or degrade the Service for other users.
- Claim ownership of third-party data — representing that contact or company data obtained through Contactwho is your proprietary data, or using it in a manner that implies endorsement, affiliation, or a business relationship with the companies or individuals described in the data.
Data Protection Compliance
You are responsible for ensuring your use of contact data complies with all applicable data protection and privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). This includes having a lawful basis for processing personal data, honouring data subject rights, and maintaining appropriate records of your processing activities.
You acknowledge that contact data provided through the Service originates from licensed third-party sources and may be subject to additional legal restrictions in certain jurisdictions. You are solely responsible for verifying the lawfulness of your intended use of this data, including but not limited to outreach, marketing, and recruitment activities.
Consequences of Violation
Violation of this AUP may result in one or more of the following actions, at Contactwho's sole discretion:
- A written warning and request to cease the prohibited activity.
- Temporary suspension of your account and access to the Service.
- Permanent termination of your account without refund.
- Reporting to relevant law enforcement or regulatory authorities.
- Legal action to recover damages.
Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any violation of this policy, please report it to support@contactwho.com. We investigate all reports and take appropriate action.
Changes
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or the Service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
